Joint Health Command and Australian Red Cross Blood Service collaborated to form The ADF Frozen Blood Project. Its aim is to develop and supply deep frozen blood components capable of long term storage at minus 80oC suitable for ADF use in deployed and austere environments.
Frozen blood will augment current ADF systems and provide a viable, safe, fully tested and readily available Australian blood supply to enhance ADF’s deployable health capability.
